Abstract:
ABSTRACT Mammography is the best available examination for the detection of early detection of breast cancer. The most common breast abnormalities that may indicate breast cancer are masses and calcifications. Computer-Aided Detection (CAD) systems have been developed to aid radiologists in detecting mammographic lesions that may indicate the presence of breast cancer. These systems act only as a second reader and the final decision is made by the radiologist. Recent studies have also shown that CAD detection systems, when used as an aid, have improved radiologists’ accuracy of detection of breast cancer. This paper gives a survey of image processing techniques for detecting mass from mammogram images. Keywords : ROI, RBFNN, SGLD, TS, k-nearest neighbors, PCNN, computer aided detection.
